Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy for autism often focuses on play skills, learning strategies, and self-care. OT strategies can also help to manage sensory issues. The occupational therapist will begin by evaluating the person’s current level of ability.
If the child has an existing OT, we will implement our key worker model to incorporate the child’s goals as part of her therapy plan. Goals could include:
  • boundary awareness s and personal space
  • Social skills such as initiating play
  • Self-care skills such as washing hands and dressing and self-feeding
  • Self-feeding
